Love Bridge

It's the day after The Send. A little breeze, warm sunny day, Sunday evening. Where else to go except a creek with a bridge with an atmosphere of solitude and stillness. As if it was already mapped out, the perfect place was just a short drive away from my friend's house.

While arriving at the park I found an interesting site. A love bridge with hundreds of locks locked on the bridge. I began to look intently at the locks with the inscriptions of years and dates, names and numbers, and short phrases which I brushed over in meditation of love. I silently spoke, "Teach me something." And with a gentleness in truth, I was being taught. He enjoys teaching.

I peered closer at the locks with the most rust. Some of them looked as if there were about to rust right off. I also searched for locks with the oldest dates. Some of the locks which appeared to be as old as the carvings and others recently placed with the years of longevity on the lock. This one here had October 6, 1962. Other ones looked as old as the bridge itself.
1962!

Here are some of the old locks....

Pondering and listening at the same time I realized that the symbolism behind each locks represented unity and endurance. Some of the couples with terms of eternity and foreverness. This made me think...

In terms of being married forever to a person, this is not true. Marriage is a covenant that is established in this life that He has given us as a gift. The reality of marriage comes from the true bridegroom of Jesus Christ.

As we read the Word of truth, we see that the early marriage covenant is done away with as one person in the covenant dies. It's over. Some of the rulers of the age and area asked Jesus a question. They put a situation before Jesus where multiple husbands died to one wife. They rose the question, who will be her husband after she dies. And Jesus replies, "For when they rise form the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angles in heaven." This is found in the book of Mark within the 12th chapter in the 25th verse.

Even if the other person dies, in heaven there will not be marriage or giving people in marriage. In the reality of hell, nothing good is there and marriage is good... so...

The earthly covenant of marriage is a shadow of the things to come for the Church. The eternal covenant that we have with Christ Jesus. Our beloved bridegroom. "Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." This is in the last book within the Word of truth.

I initially wanted to go to the store and find a lock, but with other thoughts patience and contentness came on me. And well... I didn't want to get back in the car and drive off and come back. But there was a lock that grabbed my attention, as if it was placed there just for me. There it was! J & J I don't want to believe if I can't believe in you. 12-31-21.

Jarid & Jesus

There is a Scripture that says, "Because Your loveingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise You." Indeed, if you look in the Bible, you can open it and find it there.

The inscription reads, "I don't want to believe if I can't believe in you." The Lord has abundantly embraced me in perfect moments of my loneliness in His comforting arms. He has poured out His love on me until the marrow of my bones felt like they were melting with peace. He has showed me the richness of His mysterious mind of truth and love in dreams, visions, and through nature. Indeed, I don't want to live apart from what I have already tasted in Him. I terms of this special Jarid and Jesus lock, this phrase is sufficient.

Thank you Lord Jesus for this lock of encouragement today.

Will you sit at His feet today and ask Him to teach you something according to His Word?

Here are some other unique locks...
