3rd Time Around

Lord Jesus during this next blog I just want to sit at Your feet. Listen to you. Hear Your voice and recline with my King. Minister to me the depths of Your love for me and may these writings inspire, convict, and draw people near You. Lead me Jesus and take me away in the thoughts of Your love.

3 time around. 3rd trip 1 nation. The Pearl of Africa is the nickname given by the Europeans. For me? The 3rd time around, a place of friends and family, a land of unpredictability, one of the most diverse places in the world, Uganda a familiar place receiving me with a warm welcome for the 3rd time.

1st Time Around

Getting on the plane and kissing loved ones goodbye, this time not really knowing what to expect. OK yeah sure a colleague of moving people going every which way in the city of Kampala, a calm relaxing atmosphere of family and friends in the village, people wanting to start projects, and of course the sweet taste of matooke. (OK it's not my favorite, but I do miss the milk.) But this time is a little different. First 2 seasons with organizations, plans, schedules, and work. First 2 years a Peace Corps Volunteer living in the SouthWest Teaching 3rd and 4th Grade. The second 6 month stay with YWAM as a student in the capitol city of Kampala. Then this 3rd time... well... So far it's been about a month. With an expectation for God, not knowing exactly what will happen, where He will take me, or what exactly He will call me to do. And so here I am the 3rd time around.

2nd Time Around

Things have carried on since 4 years ago. People are still kind, rainy season dry season still come and go, sun comes up and goes down, fields are ripe with fresh food, and Museveni is still president. 36 years to be exact. Although some things have remained and stayed the same this 3rd time around, I have noticed how much a country can change in only 4 years.

This 3rd time around I am filled with excitement to visit friends and family. To paint Uganda with the Word of God by giving out Bibles. To reconnect, reunite, and replenish some of those who have been asking me to come since I have left. Preach and pray and let God show the way. It's only been 3 weeks and so much has unfolded. Even it seems like a different day different place to sleep. So thankful for the kindness of those here in Uganda and the journey that we have together during this 3rd time around.
